Moving Mesh Methods

Overview

In a number of situations it is convenient for the computational grid to follow moving boundaries. This can be implemented as a time-dependent coordinate transformation from a uniform, fixed computational space grid to a curvilinear, unsteady physical space grid.

Examples

  1. Moving piston
  2. Flexible shock tube
  3. Jet constrained by flexible walls
  4. Biological acoustics
  5. Acoustics of bubbly media
