
This document addresses the installation of software
to view postscript files from the web. Instructions are given assuming
that netscape is your web browser and that you are using Windows 95 or
NT.
You will need to download the latest version of GSview and Aladdin Ghostscript. At the time of writing gsv27550.exe was the latest version. The latest version is available from:
After downloading the file, run the self extracting executable. The answering yes to all the defaults will install gsview on your PC and create icons in the Program Menu. You can now view PS files. To integrate gsview with netscape, continue reading.
Start netscape. Go to a page that has a postscript file, such as:
Click on one of the postscript links at the bottom
of the page. When the Unknown File Type box appears, click
Pick
App. Then click Browse. Select the location where
you installed gsview.
(The default is C:\gstools\gsview\gsview32.exe)
When the next text box appears, choose Open it with the radio button and press ok. (Leaving the Always ask for this type of file check box checked will let you choose to download the file or just view it.)
